5 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)
Sail Date: September 03, 2012
Ship: Carnival Elation
Cabin Type: Oceanview
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 4 years ago
The ship was small and easy to get around on if you don't mind using steps. The elevator was almost always in use at other floors and when it would start moving it would pass your floor 4 or 5 times before it would stop and open. One learned to just get in ANY open door (going up or down) and then push your button for the floor you wanted. You would get there 10 times faster.

Food and Dining

Our food quality was poor\, and our waiter was sooooo.... Slow that by the time we were getting our desert and coffee we were being rushed out of the dinning room so that they could get our table ready for the late diner. You were lucky if you had more then one glass of water at a meal. It was a let down!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The games were fun\, but the shows were poor.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The people that did the games and such were very funny and nice. The sales people were not. They were only there to sell\, not to give you any help or answers about what they were selling.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was small but clean. There was more then enough space on the deck to sit and it was nice that one didn't have to put up with cigarette smoke.

Cabin / Stateroom

J was GREAT! He made sure we had everything we needed. The room was of good size and always clean.

Pros: The shore trips

Cons: The food

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.
