We had an excellent cruise on the Elation. Lines were a bit of a pain and you know what you're getting into with Carnival, however, with 3 kids, they were very happy. Seniors-and anyone who wants a quiet cruise-should not expect that on a Carnival ship, especially during the summer. We adjusted our tipping to account for the children. We will cruise with Carnival again.

Food and Dining

Food was good. Excellent staff. We didn't care for the late sitting--it was tooooo late and the time conflicted with the kids' program. We tried to change to earlier sitting, but were told no. Dinner was better then the cafeteria-style breakfast and lunch. We did not have breakfast or lunch in the formal dining room. The kids loved the 24-hour availability of the ice cream machine.

Children's Programs

Great for the kids! Different age groups, a variety of activities. The printed materials could have been a bit clearer. We don't know what we would have done without the program. Great job on this area Carnival!

Service and Staff

The crew was excellent. The entertainers chatted with me. The photographers were many and only did 8 x 10 photos. We think they should offer 5 x 7 at a lower price.

Ship Quality

Everything was fine.

Cabin / Stateroom

Nice and clean. Rarely saw our steward. Limited TV channels.

Pros: Kids' program; staff was fluent in English; wait staff in the dining room; value

Cons: Formal seating for dinner; didn't see our room steward. long lines
