Do Not Cruise Carnival!

Sail Date: January 10, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The cruise was a disaster, 8 hours late getting to Cozumel and then turning around and going back to Mobile, because of a "problem with the propulsion system". Which was such a problem that we got back at 3:00am and disembarked at 9:30am at which time they restocked the ship and headed back out to sea on schedule. The "propulsion" problem was so bad that they headed back out to sea on schedule, no they did not take the ship to dry dock to fix the "propulsion problem", they headed back out to sea on schedule. Now here is the deal; they get $6.33 for a lousy Bud Light on board ship, mixed drinks and import beers are much higher than $6.33. Bingo is $20.00, they have a casino, you get the picture. If they keep you on the ship instead of you having a good time in Cozumel or Calica, they make more money, alot more money, because all there is to do on board the Elation is to drink and gamble and you are going to lose at both. The cheap price of this cruise $279 per person is a come on. We also saw one of the cabin boys rifiling thru another cabins draws. The wait staff in the main dining room were also a bunch of aloof, put out, people.

Pros: Getting off the ship!

Cons: Arriving 8 hrs. late to Cozumel and then not going on to the next port Calica, A Bud Light was $6.33 onboard the ship.

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.

Service and Staff
Wait staff in main dining room left a lot to be desired.
Cabin / Stateroom
Not the nicest I have seen but you only sleep in these things anyway.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
Entertainment
Cozumel, Mexico
Was only able to spend limited time at Cozumel due to the "propulsion system problem".
