The staff was excellent, the food was plentiful 24/7, and most of the time it was good. The crew was extremely curteous and helpful. On our way to Cozumel the ships propulsion system on one side of the ship malfunctioned. The ship rocked from side to side like a baby's cradle. It was my husband's birthday and we had close to $2000.00 invested in the trip. Including days off from work, 14 hr. drive roundtrip, gasoline, excursions, shopping, photographs, extra tips, maintenance to vehicle prior to travel. The cruise line's idea of compensation was $72.25 per person. We were on land four hours, never made it to our 2nd destination, and rocked from side to side basically for 5 days on the water.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
the food was good most of the time, some of the food served during the formal setting was a bit too bland

Entertainment

3 out of 5
the entertainment was good

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
the ship staff was the best part of the trip. The ship staff member who had to follow orders to under compensate us for out horrific inconveinence was the worst part of the trip. Of course the actual malfunction of the ship was devastating.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
the ship was for the most part reasonably clean, the decor was nicely decorated

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
stateroom was in good condition

Pros: Crew, Dining Staff, Ship Cleanliness

Cons: The Ship Malfunctioned and compensated us $72.50

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.
