Very old, worn, and outdated ship

Sail Date: July 01, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

It was a dated ship. A ton of people on the ship got seasick because the ship swayed so much. The pools were all very shallow, small, and ICE cold!

Pros: The food was good, and there were a lot of fun activities. Nice staff!

Cons: The list goes on and on! The ship was old and outdated, and was in serious need of a redo.

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.

Ship Quality
Small ship, but that depends on if you like small ships or larger ones. The furniture and detailing of the ship is bad, and almost everything is outdated. The cruise director said it was "The award winning Carnival Elation"....is this a joke? This ship needs a big redo.
Cabin / Stateroom
The stateroom comfortably fit my family of four. It matched the rest of the ship, outdated. There were two beds that folded out from the wall, and they were both very sturdy. The beds were comfortable.
Service and Staff
They were very nice, and always helped us with our problems.
Food and Dining
The food was excellent. This was probably the best part of the cruise. The presentation of the food was very good, also. Everything was cooked to perfection!!!!
Entertainment
The entertainment was very good. There were two shows, and one of them was just ok. There were a ton of really fun activities out on by Carnival on the ship for all ages. The waterslide on the pool deck was very slow, and it was not fun at all. There were only 3 small pool, and they were ice cold. The hot tubs were good, but they were always filled with people.
