Review Summary

We recently sailed on the Carnival Elation for a five day cruise out of Mobile, Alabama. Over all the cruise was a nice one. The waiters and waitresses were fantastic and we did not receive anything that was not as we ordered! On the other side of the coin we were almost harassed by photographers and it was hard to stroll certain areas of the ship without feeling like you were interfering. We chose to avoid that floor as much as possible. Our shipboard steward kept our room at the ready and we almost wondered if he was intuitive to our needs! Fantastic! I understand there were 600 children on our cruise and not having little ones with us were extremely impressed with the care they enjoyed "cheers to you Carnival Elation for all you do in caring for those important small people." We saw young men and women doing repairs and cleaning most of the time, yet somehow they remained descreet while doing so. I do feel perhaps a few suggestions could be used in chosing entertainment for the guests. We felt there was to much of the bingo going on and perhaps a little switching of some of the shows times. Being at late dining for us was a bit inconvenient with wishing to attend or perhaps maybe a little more detail in the daily paper would not be remiss. However, there were definately many plus points and we did enjoy ourselves very much.

Our favorite part was the individuals that sold items that they themselves made. We purchased a painting done by a local artist and felt that we were taking a little of Cozumel home with us. We had previously been to the ruins so did not do that on our trip, but do recommend it highly!

Pros: excellent staff, cleanliness

Cons: not enough shows in the larger lounges during convenient times for all guests, to many bingo games, to much photo taking.

Recommends Carnival Elation? Yes!
