Higher Expectations

Sail Date: December 09, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Inside

I was impressed with the service that I received from the cleaning of the room to the evening dinner.
The ship appeared to be dirty especially in the dining areas. I recall on one ocassion, after cleaning off my table prior to being seated for breakfast, the table smelled like it had been cleaned with a dirty dish rag.

Pros: The evening dinners. There was always a large selection of entrees to choose from. The dining staff and houskeeping far exceeded my expectations.

Cons: The interior configuration of the ship. It seemed too conjested and the elevators were always delayed. Had to spend too much time in line waiting to go anywhere.

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.

Key West, Florida
Too much emphasis on shopping for souvenirs. Not a good place for a family.
Cozumel, Mexico
Location was great however, we had to tender out to the island. Unsure why, considering other boats NCL and RCL were docked at a port. We were delayed getting to the island (2hours behind schedule) and it took almost 2 more hours to get off the boat. As a result we only had 5 hours to do and see everything on the island.
