7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: June 11, 2006
Ship: Carnival Elation
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Family (young children)
Reviewed: 7 years ago
Carnival needs to do a lot of work on the Elation in order to compete with the newer ships. They also need to rework the activities and get some new menus. I will never take a Carnival cruise again. Royal Caribbean is the best.

Not much to see or do. Snorkeling was average.

Best for shopping!
Don't Miss: Pirate and historical home tour very good. Buy jewelry!

Love the food and the ambience.
Don't Miss: Having Pina Colada at the restaurant where it was first created.

Pros: Chose Carnival because of the unique Ports of Call; the service staff were excellent.

Cons: The ship was rundown; the food was bland; it took 2 hours to get through immigration so we missed our tour; the excursions were not what they always said in the description. Additionally, my son was bored with Camp Carnival and the adult activities were repeats from other Carnival Cruise ships.
