Carnival Elation

Sail Date: November 01, 2009

Ship: Carnival Elation

Cabin Type: Oceanview

Traveled As: Couple

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Review Summary

The Elation is a smaller cruise ship, but it's very cozy. It only took a day to get familiar with the whole ship. Our cabin was on the Empress deck aft and it was very convenient because we could just walk up the stairs to the Atlantic deck for dinner, up two flights to the Promenade, or up three to the Lido deck for the buffets and the pools.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

Carnival food is about knowing when to eat, where to eat, and what to eat. The breakfast and lunch buffets were not very good, but the breakfast omelette station was great! For lunch time I recommend the restaurant. Dinner in the restaurant is also good, but it's more about presentation than flavor. I'd recommend the dinner buffet in the seaview bistro (Lido deck starboard side).

We enjoyed a lot of the shows and our cruise director Steve was a blast.

Great crew!

Ship Quality

Our cabin was very nice and kept in great condition. The ship was just the right size for our 4 night cruise and it was very convenient to use the stairs instead of the elevators.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great! Our Steward, Kingsley, did a great job of keeping our cabin in tip top shape. Being on the Empress deck was very convenient because we could take the stairs one or two flights up and be in the heart of the action.

Pros: The crew was great especially our director Steve

Cons: The food was disappointing
