Had fun, but I wasn't impressed

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

this was my first cruise experience. i am not sure if i will take another carnival cruise again - i would prefer to try a difference cruise line.

Pros: The housekeeping staff was great

Cons: the dining room staff were rude, food was mediocre, and getting off/on the ship was disorganized

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.

Children's Programs
my son had more fun than me on this trip
Food and Dining
very, very small portions
i kept getting moved to different tables
staff was rude
food was ok in the dining room - better at the buffets
Service and Staff
no one would offer to help - each time i had to go out of my way to ask for help
including getting on the ship - they just stood there and smiled, but did not offer any information on where to go from the boarding area. it was very confusing - no maps or anything
Ship Quality
the ship was smaller than i expected
Cabin / Stateroom
small, but lots of storage and very comfortable
shows were good, but limited
