4 Night Baja Mexico (San Diego Roundtrip) Sail Date: February 15, 2009 Ship: Carnival Elation Cabin Type: Inside Reviewed: 9 years ago
Quaint ship. Definitely not one of the megaliners out there but not so small that you'd get bored on a 4 night cruise. Pool isn't heated, so if the weather hasn't been warm, be prepared for some cold water.
Food and Dining

Surprised that the dining room and the buffet served the same food at dinner. Not much "alternative" dining on board at dinner time. Food wasn't inedible but I've definitely had better.

Comedy bits were funny. Wasn't too impressed with the singing/dancing shows.

Kids really liked "camp carnival".
Service and Staff

Very friendly crew. Dining room hostess was very accommodating to special dietary restrictions and easy to work with. Waiters were very nice but they seemed a bit rushed all the time. It's a very good staff but perhaps there's not enough of them in the main dining room?
Need to tender to the island and the seas were a little rough that day making for a loooooong line to get off the boat. Didn't get off until afternoon and last ferry back to the ship was 4pm, so only had time for a quick hike.
