Review summary

The ship was great. This is our second "sisters' birthday" cruise with Carnival. It is always such fun and the staff are always wonderful, especially in the dining room at the evening meal. You really feel pampered. The beds are so comfortable - it's very important to us to go home without our backs hurting! We plan to add a another night to our cruise next year.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The quality of the food in the dining room was excellent! The buffets are good but the buffet desserts are not very good - too rubbery and kind of phony tasting. Love the pizza bar. Love that food is always available and there are so many choices.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We always love the hairy chest contest and activities on the Lido deck because we're sun lovers and spend most of our days there. I thought the staff running that contest this year were very good. And of course, we never got around to doing all the activities once again.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Absolutely wonderful staff in the dining room (Roma & Nela an absolute delight) and on our floor and we really enjoy the variety of nationalities. The drink servers on the Lido deck are a little more aggressive than I would like but then we just have a drink here and there.

Ship Quality

Great.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Well, we go for the Riviera because we don't spend much time in our room other than shower and sleep. The size of the room was small but we like it cozy. The room was always well kept up for us and of course we love the little towel animals.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
We didn't do much in Cabo. Went on to San Jose which was interesting and actually liked it better than Cabo. I wished I would have gone fishing like one fellow we ate with - he caught a 35-lb. mahi mahi and a restaurant cooked it for lunch for the group. What fun.

Pros: The beds. Evening meal.

Cons: Buffet desserts.
