Ship: Carnival Elation
Cabin Type: Oceanview
Traveled As: Couple

typical cruise ship. Captain's party, superbowl party and entertainment excellent. Otherwise they were out to extract evey last dime from you. Everything way over priced. Cruise director was a total pain.

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Variety good. Many etrees way over spiced and sauced, losing the basic taste.
Some vegetables inedible. Assumed they ordered good stuff, but got bad--but then served it.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Dance show and comedians excellent. Comedian, one of the best. Felt the other activities there, were just to try to give passengers something to kill time with. Found no interest in them, except one.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Good staff, Table waiter excellent, helpful and friendly.-but lacked basic skills of proper serving techiques. (I know, I was trained by someone who insisted on it.) Cruise director just a loudmouth dud.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
OK

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Stateroom fine except for bed arrangement. If you chose a double, no way to get to one of the sides except to crawl over furniture and the end of the bed.
3 out of 5
Typical Mexico town out to sell you everything and anything. Our boat trip to see the rocky point at the entrance to the bay was good. Others reported whale watching went well. Never found a good restaurant.
Don't Miss: see above

Pros: entertainment was great

Cons: food and room accomodations

Recommends Carnival Elation? No.
