Carnival Elation

Sail Date: May 28, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was in great shape. We stayed on the Riveria deck towards the back of the boat. Which turned out to be just a short ride on the elavator to Tiffanys restaurant and our dining room. .

Pros: The ports we visited.

Cons: The only complaint is the ice machines- very few and out of ice most of the time!

Ship Quality
The ship was very clean morning, noon and night.
Food and Dining
I actually enjoyed the food in Tiffanys more than the dining room. There were many options on all menus.
Cabin / Stateroom
State Room was fine the beds very comfortable.
Service and Staff
Loved our waiter and our room steward. They were very friendly and accomodating.
Entertainment
Many choices of activities on our sea days I had a full agenda. From going to Bingo to the art auction.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
This port had beautiful beaches. The only restaurant on the island was Carnival. There were long lines to stand in with much congestion, there is room for improvement in this area.
Don't Miss: Snokerling by boat was really great.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
We rented a private sailboat called "High Pockets" it was a 6 hour trip inbetween St. Thomas and St. John. Excellent adventure!
Don't Miss: Sailing with High Pockets.
Grand Turk Island
This island is beautiful very undeveloped as of June 2, 2006. We did the Sea Helmut Dive it was great! The crew and the adventure where top notch. Walking around on the bottom of the ocean with my glasses on was amazing.
Don't Miss: Margaritaville and Sea Helmut Dive
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Not so thrilled with San Juan. We basically shopped ate at Senor Frogs and returned to the boat by 1pm.
Don't Miss: Senor Frogs-Dooney and Burke Outlet
