We didn't have trouble with motion sickness surprisingly but we choose to stay at the bottom of the ship. Now that we know it isn't a issue we will try for a suite next time. Oh, when you get a king size bed; realized that means 2 twins pushed together so you have a line down the bed.
I would say, "It's not about the ship, but about the people you're with."
Experience all the activities and shows possible. Have a few days to rest up from your cruise when you return. Do NOT go dieting. Be prepared to gain a few pounds; however, you will lose it easily when you return home eating normal again.
Figure out where and what time your meals are served for some really good food. Plan your excursions so you don't feel rushed. Pick your room on above or below the action preferably floor six. Our one of the sites above the Lido deck
We had a great attitude so it was easy to have fun, relax and enjoy. There were people who would cut lines, and expect to be served on hand & foot all the time. Did not let us be bothered by them. The ship is great for first time cruisers, for families and kids. The bathrooms needs to be updated
The best foods were in the aft part of the ship. Avoid the pizza place, it's pathetic. Get to the pool early if you want a lounge chair and to actually use the pool.
Don't believe the bad reviews. There are some people that can't say anything good about anything. Make your own experience. I am so glad I gave Carnival a chance !!! I will be doing this again and again !!!
I loved eating breakfast on the Lido deck. They had short lines and I loved the omelets they made for us
No children? Definitely check out the Serenity Deck, a lounging area with two jacuzzi's for adults only . Super comfy lounges, conveniently located aft, right below the lido deck so grabbing a snack or drink was super easy.
The omelet buffet on the Lido deck is very good. Always, always get the chocolate melting cake!
Don't get off the ship at Princess Cays
Don't.. point blank.. I said the entire time on it .. it was the 1st and the last.. Carnival in our entire groups opinion overcharges on everything from drinks to pictures & doesn't compare to other cruise lines as far as how they treat the passengers
Get the faster to fun and if you drink the alcohol package is worth purchasing.
It's old, dirty, smelly and full of unattended, screaming children
Participate in the activities- I think that is what makes cruising fun! But take time to rest.
If you think you might end up dealing with motion sickness.....ask your doctor for the patch. It was great for both my wife and I and really helped us be able to fully enjoy our time. Also, get the Carnival HUB App. It was the perfect tool to help my wife and I organize what we wanted to do and when.
It's perfect for first time cruises in my opinion because it's not the biggest out there. It gives you a chance to learn how to get around and what all the possibilities are on a cruise. We truly enjoyed!
Drink packages are worth it
Bring Germ-X. The cruise ran out. Also, this is a very casual cruise. If you don't want to wait in line at Wind Star or Wind Song, be there at the beginning of your dining time. Otherwise, be prepared for quite a wait. Don't miss out on the kids' clubs. They're top-notch.
Bring a first aid kit. They charge $1.50 for one bandaid.
