Review summary

This was a cruise celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. We were treated like royalty. Felix, our room steward was amazing, Amin, our server at dinner, was beyond amazing, Alexey, the head of guest services was very kind to us- we met him in passing and we explained we were celebrating our anniversary and traveling with a couple who was celebrating a birthday and he sent us a bottle of wine to our dinner table. The lady who helped us so much at guest services also sent us a bottle of wine to our room the last night of our cruise. We were very humbled by their kindness. I have an uncontrolled seizure disorder and when I got separated from my husband and had a seizure in our room and Felix found me, it was handled exactly like I wanted: no fuss. It made such an impact on my husband, who was a first time cruiser, that he is ready to go again!

Embarkation

Smooth- as soon as we were ready to board, we were able to.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Awesome- my husband has a special diet- no nuts or seeds and they were more than accommodating. The staff was great!

Wind Song Dining Room

5 out of 5

We met our friends every evening for dinner. And our server Amin was beyond amazing. He made sure my husband had a special meal prepared for him. One night I had to leave dinner early and he let my husband bring my dinner plate to me. Beyond amazing!! I’d rate higher if I could. This area was the best of the best!! And we really had the best of the best!!

Buffet

Great! Had something for everyone!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
While I was only able to attend two activities, there was ALWAYS something to do!

Spa Carnival

1 out of 5

I purchased 2 massages for my husband- what I didn’t expect was a sales pitch afterwards. Totally inappropriate. We are there to relax. I expect to be hit up by sales when we are in port, NOT while we are onboard!

Photo Gallery

Photos are memories that last a lifetime. These are things I cherish beyond our cruise. Be sure to get the free gifts they offer with the more you purchase. And they make great gift. Be sure to purchase the usb card.

Guest Services / Shore Excursions

5 out of 5

My advice is to book through Carnival! I woke up with a migraine and called guest services because I didn’t want the excursion people waiting on us at the pier. They refunded us our money! Totally unexpected! And very much appreciated!

Entertainment

The dj’a Were were awesome, the shows I caught a glimpse of were amazing!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This area I really cannot say enough about. We were treated like VIPs, and we are just regular people. A little kindness and we were treated like royalty. From our room steward to our dining room service to guest services- everyone we came in contact with went above and beyond our expectations.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It’s an older ship, but I still loved it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size was great, and the view from the balcony was amazing. It was very, very clean.

Ship tip

My only piece of advice is to be nice to others and they will be nice you. A little kindness goes a very, very long way.

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston is an amazing place. My husband and I went there for our 3rd anniversary and we fell in love with it. Advise you to book a hotel in Mt. Pleasant.

Nassau, Bahamas

It was ok- we walked through the shopping area and visited the straw market. I really wasn’t impressed. Maybe next time we will visit Atlantis or Junkanoo Beach.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
It was raining so we didn’t get off the ship.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
I’m disabled and had to stand in line- it was taxing on me. I came very, very close to having a seizure while standing in line which I tried all trip to keep hidden. But the line moved fairly quickly and we were in the parking lot on our way home before I knew it.
