Review summary

After reading reviews about the Carnival Ecstasy, we were keeping expectations low.  Perhaps that was a good thing, because we had a pretty good time.

It is true that the ship is somewhat dated, but some upgrades have been made.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The dinners in the Wind Star were excellent. The buffet was average at best. The Iguana, Burger spot, and pizza were good.

Onboard Activities

Cruise Director Benjamin is the best of any other cruises we have been on. Quick, witty, and entertaining. he definitely made the cruise. bands were good, shows were average.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Most everyone was great, from bartenders to wait staff, to room attendants.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Obviously dated. Mostly clean, although definite sewage smell near the mid ship as you pass by. I would hate to have had one of the rooms close to the constant smell.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Dated, of course. Smaller than other cruise ships.
