Carnival in decline
Carnival Ecstasy Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas
Medoicre is the only word I can use to describe this and my other most recent cruises on Carnival. Although housekeeping and basic daily service standards remain satisfactory, the overall atmosphere and special touches once signature to a carnival cruises are gone. Instead of an exciting multi day vacation, it was merely an oceanic shuttle to the Carribean. Only 2 stage shows for the 5 nite cruise. No poolside live music, just a second rate dj playing music no one but himself enjoyed and a steel drums player that spent more time searching through his songs on his iPod to play along with than actually performing. And who can seriously stand 8 hours of Taylor Swift on steel drums anyway? Dinner service was satisfactory but daily buffet was anything and everything deom
the night before covered in cheese or tomato sauce. Cruise director Anthony was a buzz kill. Pretty sure he was once a golf pro who couldn't find a job in his field.
Our group has been loyal to Carnival for our annual vacations and weekend getaways for several years, but after this trip we have unanimously agreed to pursue alternate cruise lines in the future or completely land based vacations. We will most definitely NOT be cruising with Carnival on our upcoming vacations and there is a very very strong likelihood we will never travel with Carnival cruise lines again. The decline in their customer service is saddening.
