Nice little getaway

Sail Date: September 21, 2015

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

The Ecstasy seems like a little older of a ship but has plenty of amenities.  The stop in Key West seemed too short and the stop in Cozumel seemed too long.  The rooms were typical of a cruise ship and the service was as to be expected.  Nothing jumped out at me; either really great or really bad.

The pool was very small but there were plenty of loungers to choose from which was good for spending time outside.

Cabin / Stateroom
Always get a balcony when you cruise. It was very nice having coffee on our balcony, watching the sun rise, getting a nice ocean breeze whenever we could.
The room had maybe two power outlets which was difficult with two phones and two laptops to keep charged.
The king bed is two twins pushed together which meant one of us usually ended up in the crack in the middle of the night. Not very comfortable.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Ship Quality
Design is good but the ship seems a little older. Losing some of its sparkle
Destinations and Excursions
Wait until you are on the ship to decide on excursions. I bought them far in advance and through American Airlines and ended up paying too much, with 1/8 of the choices available to me.

Take the extra few minutes the night before to plan your day. There is always so much going on which is great but you don't want lack of planning to mean that you end up missing something cool. Don't buy your excursions through American Airlines travel.
