We have been on Carnival before and never experience what happened to us this time. My husband and I were celebrating our 46 wedding anniversary with our five sons and their family members. One of our sons is a Gold member because he has been on so many Carnival cruises and yet we had another son who was the first time on a Carnival ship and will never again. Since my son booked our cruise a bit late the Wind Song dining room was full, so we were put on a wait listed for the Wind Star dining room. We had a party of 16 people which they could not accommodate at one table, so we were divided into 3 tables. Our four grandchildren had to seat by themselves and they ranged from 4 to 8 yrs old. One night we were waiting over an hour to get our food which is unacceptable even with a large group. The last time we cruise on the Carnival Dream we had 23 people and didn't experience this delay. When our food started to arrive it was in bits and pieces....a few from each table would get their food while others were waiting along time for their to arrive. If you order more than one entra you got both at the same time served instead of the waiter waiting till you finished the first meal. My son with the Gold card went over and spoke to the Maitre D who came over to see why this was happening. We don't believe this was the waiter's fault, but the kitchen for the delay. The last day that we ate together our oldest son went several times to the dining room trying to get a specific time and they kept telling him to come back. Our son ended up returning three times when he finally requested to speak to Maitre D who was able to help him. We were able to seat within two tables back to back. Our waiter was great even suggesting a selection which made it easier for us to pick. He even waited till several were finished with their first entre before serving them a second one. The Maitre D even came back several times to make sure we were satisfied with the food and service. So needless to say we were disappointed with the food service.

First no fridge in room and since both my husband and I are on medication this was an inconvenience. Our bathroom door didn't close always had to hold handle if a family member was in our room if we needed to use it. No ice bucket had to request one. No tissues in room had to buy a box in Key West when we got off. Our cleaning person did a nice job with our room even decorating it with a "Happy Anniversary " banner inside and on door outside.

Ship Tip

Don't assign room to handicap person where there is so much traffic going through. We were on Lido deck and people and kids were running and being extremely loud at 2 am going passed our room which kept waking us up.
