Not great for children or non-drinkers

Sail Date: August 18, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

Ship is an older cruise ship with limited balcony rooms but has been updated. There are limited areas of daylight on the public decks and none on the majority of the accommodation decks. The style is older las vegas or early atlantic city. It could stand another renovation to bring in more daylight and add balconies. The mini golf area was a pleasant surprise compared to my last carnival cruise.

Pros: Private Island

Cons: Smoking on board and age of ship

Recommends Carnival Ecstasy? No.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
good selection of choices
Cabin / Stateroom
good room with too small balcony
Service and Staff
housekeeping staff was excellent
entertainment was lack luster and schedule made it impossible to see anything if you ate dinner at 7:30.
Children's Programs
My six year old and fifteen year old were satisfied with the program but my eleven year old was completely disappointed and gave up even trying by the third day.
