it is a good first time cruisers ship. Ship is over 20 years old and shows it.The staff was friendly fut this must be where they start the new employees to train them as you could easily notice the lack of experience. The spas decor is very nice the rest of the ship looks late 80's. I sailed the imagination 10 years ago and was much better at the time. Unless you get a good deal or you need this because its close to disney. We stayed a couple of days on cocoa beach then cruised out of port canaveral highly recomend the port, very easy to access and lots of things to do with kids in the area.

Pros: camp carnival and waterworks waterslides

Cons: food quality, decor of the ship

Recommends Carnival Ecstasy? No.

Food and Dining
food was awful with the exception of the burgers and the deli on the lido deck and the chocolate melting cake at dinner. lots of breads, pasta, etc I imagine becase its cheap. It reminded me of hospital food very bland. desserts were not any better alot of mousse creations and gelatin based things.
Children's Programs
very nice kids enjoyed camp carnival and the new carnival water works park when it was open
Ship Quality
Old but was clean needs a overhall!
Cabin / Stateroom
very clean room steward were great!
Service and Staff
all the staff were friendly always greeted you with a smile
lame lame lame! pool side trivia, bean bag toss, bartending contest and a hairy chest contest. I have been to resorts that have much better entertainment. Only saw the show in lounge last night but was not very good. casino not very good as well, need to use your sail and sign card to cash credits from slot machines. do not forget to cash out with cashier in casino before the end of cruise or you loose any credits to your account
