A bad experience

Sail Date: December 19, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Inside

It was such a bad experience from the time we checked in at the counter to the last night of the cruise. The ship was dirty, the layout was bad, the food was not so good.

Pros: none

Cons: Dining experience

Recommends Carnival Ecstasy? No.

Ship Quality
The layout of the ship was so bad that to get to one dining room to the other dining room, you had to take a flight of stair up or down; or you had to take a flight of stair up or down to the to the other side of the ship. This is time consuming.
Food and Dining
The quality of the food was so bad on this ship that we ended up having sandwiches at lunch. Fried chicken was served 3 out of 5 lunches. The hamburgers were dried and greasy.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our cabin was so cold because there was only one setting in our cabin, even though we attempted to adjust it witht he help of our porter.
Service and Staff
There was no going above and beyond here at the Ecstacy. Our family were split up at dinner in 2 different dining rooms due to the staff mistake at checked in. We were assurred that the seatings can be changed if we talked to the Matre 'D, Victor. We did request on 3 different nights, but Victor refused to accomodate us. We had to ask the other guests if they were willing to switch dining room so we can be with our family. Finally, we were with our family the last 2 nights.
There were no options for entertainment. Either we go to the casino to gamble your money, or you play Bingo. At night, the comedy shows were so bad. It seems that D. Cameron did not have his own jokes but he seemed to played it impromptu with the audience, so he did not have to prepare his own materials. The show, "Extreme Country" was so extreme, you have to be a fan of country music to appreciate it.
