This cruise was below average at best

Sail Date: May 23, 2011

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our first cruise with Carnival. We sailed twice before with Royal Carribean. The Carnival/Ecstasy cruise left little to be desired. Out of 5 days we had 2 sea days in which we were left trying to find something to keep us entertained. The lack of shows and events left us disappointed. At one point my wife asked guest services what would be a good beach to visit and they said they didn't know. They didn't even make an attempt to find out. Now the food and food service was excellent. So were the room stewards.

Pros: The food was excellent

Cons: Lack of entertainment

Recommends Carnival Ecstasy? No.

Food and Dining
Carnival needs to take a few lessons from Royal Carribean.
Ship Quality
I give this an average rating due to the ships interior being very outdated. It was clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
Cozumel, Mexico
Port and beaches are fantastic!
Don't Miss: Paradise Beach
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
The beach was cluttered with litter.
Don't Miss: Your guess is as good as mine. Money needs to be invested.
