A great cruise

Sail Date: November 27, 2010

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our first cruise, so don't have much to compare against. Overall this was a memorable experience, will definitely be cruising again in the near future. Food was the best part of the experience, especially the desserts. Cozumel was a great port of call, however, I was disappointed with Progreso, not much to do unless you take a 90 minutes bus ride to Mayan ruine, which we didn't.

Pros: Food

Cons: Progreso

Recommends Carnival Ecstasy? Yes!

Ship Quality
Carnival Esctasy is kind of an older ship, built in early 90s. Still it is modern and the public areas are mostly clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had an ocean view room. It was cramped for 4 adults. The ship doesn't have many balcony rooms unlike the modern ships.
Overall good entertainment package. The performers probably won't make it to Vegas or similar shows...
Food and Dining
Best dining experience. Carnival deserves highest rating in dining IMHO. Dining hall staff were friendly, they accommodated our special requests.
