Tired Food on a Tired Ship
Carnival Ecstasy Cruise Review to Caribbean - Western
Sail Date: February 05, 2007
Ship: Carnival Ecstasy
Cabin Type: Suite
Traveled As: Family (older children)

This was our 3rd cruise.. We have cruised Royal and Disney before. This was the least expensive and lower end cruise of the 3. The best part was the price and perks. When you put more than 2 in the same room the other people in the room get on for 50% less. We got the 4 of us (wife, I and 2 kids) in a suite. Lots of room - king size bed with queen fold out and they brought in a trundle bed for the boy and we had plenty of space. All of this for just over $2k for the 5 nights..
The ship is 16+ yeard old and is not very fancy. The food was less than spectacular - in fact there was not a meal anyone of us would have went back for.
The upside is when you get a suite, you get the VIP access. You get in a special line to get in and get to the front of the security line. You then sit with a counselor to get all checked in. We were in our room 15 minutes after we got off the parking bus.
