Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Over all the food is great. So much selection. Guys burgers are always the best! Just wish they were open longer hours.

The Cherry on Top

4 out of 5

Very small but able to get in and out of fast.

Always good to have a sandwich made to order and lines move pretty fast.

Serenity Bar

1 out of 5

Bar is very small and hard to get service on. Ended up heading to another bar lower to get service.

Scarlet Restaurant

3 out of 5

A bit dark for dinner, but was nice for sea day brunch. Not a fan of all the red lighting but I guess that is what makes it Scarlett.

Onboard Activities

Thermal Suite Tepidarium

5 out of 5

Sometimes a bit crowded but the wait to get a reclined chair is worth it. The hot stones are so soothing on the legs and back. The sitting chairs also do wonders for the lower back!

Thalasso Pool

So great! Never crowded, water is perfect temp and you leave with your skin feeling nice and soft. Perfect place to relax!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship shows its age compared to the Vista (the first and only other ship I have been on). Rooms had bad lighting (took over a minute for all the lights to turn on after flipping the switch). The TV was tiny, but fortunately the room is not where you want to spend all your time. Can get a little lost sometimes trying to get to Scarlet dining area at first but you figure it out just in time for the cruise to be over. Still a nice ship overall. Lobby area and glass elevators were nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

! Lights take over a minute to fully turn on and TV is tiny. Barely saw our steward and only got one towel animal that was reused throughout the cruise. Overall was still comfortable. Carnival pillows are the best!

Ship tip

I don’t know how it took me 2 days into my second cruise to learn to mix the free tea and lemonade for your own ‘Arnold Palmer’ but highly recommend a slightly less sweet free drink available 24 hours a day.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

Galveston, Texas

The city is nice but the parking for the Port of Galveston was a nightmare with street conditions being very poor and in need of repair. Lot A easy to miss due to have the street being barricaded
