Review summary

I cruised with a handicap man and I was not impressed with accessibility overall. Also faster to the fun was not enforced once we were onboard outside of the designated line at guest services and the line for room service. But we had a great time overall and loved the staff.

Anyone traveling with handicap beware this port is poor with communication. We were left in an area for special service needs and after several minutes asked someone and found out the person who put us there lied about someone coming to get us. We needed to talk to another person about getting an elevator

Amazing coffee!!! And even with a longer line the wait wasn’t bad and the staff was friendly.

Cloud 9 Spa

I enjoyed the spa access I had but I will say the pedicure isn’t something I’d recommend. They did a good job and I loved the ladies doing the nails. But it wasn’t anymore than I’ve gotten at a third of the price.

Thalasso Pool

I loved this so much. So relaxing.

Caliente Dance Club

The DJ sucked and it wasn’t very happening. Also security sucks there. My aunt and I were followed by a man and even after reporting it nothing was really done. He was prowling between the nightclub and elevators. A competent security team would have seen this for the red flag that it is.

We went to the margaritaville hotel because we were told the one close to the terminal was not handicap friendly. We found out this was a lie. It is handicap accessible.

Room service phone line is what I mean. Not an actual line to stand in 🙂

The guest service line and room service lines were the only benefits we got from FTTF once onboard to clarify. And I will say the staff tried their best to accommodate wheelchair access but most eating areas were a challenge to get a wheelchair through. Maybe we just got unlucky at the port and with the FTTF on the ship. It hasn’t deterred me from cruising with them again. I just see room for improvement with handicap accessibility in dining areas and more handicap bathrooms. And better communication at the port in New Orleans. Maybe they assumed we knew but they communicated help would come to us. We didn’t mind having to go get help ourselves. It was just not communicated we needed to and it wasted time we’d rather not have.

All depends on the ship if they enforce the priority and FTTF some have not got a clue what priority means ... this has become apparent on the last couple of cruise we have been on ...

Port of New Orleans is very handicapped friendly

Handicapped and have never had a problem. Just the opposite. Don’t understand the comment about the line for room service as room service is reached from your cabin phone? If you were outside the line at guest services as you say I can understand why you may have had a problem.

That is surprising about the handicap accessibility.... I have seen so many and they always seemed to have it going on. That would stink with the guest services line.... that is mainly why we got FTTF before. It was very much enforced when Chris, the Flying Scotsman was the Director; many things were! Also, people trying to disembark from other floors, he made them go back and wait. The Legend also enforced the guest service access for FTTF & priority. Not sure what happened there! Some people just don’t care.
