Cheated by a local vendor in Cozumel
Carnival Dream Cruise Review to Caribbean - Western
Review SummaryWe got off the ship in Cozumel and shopped in the Puerta Maya Pier. We were cheated in a local store near the Mayan Gifts and across from Tanzanite International. The man told us that a necklace was tanzanite and nearly three carats, with a white gold chain and white amethyst bordering the tanzanite. We paid $250 US. Back on the boat the Carnival shopper told us that he didnt think it was real tanzanite. Back home a local jeweler, a family friend ,told us the tanzanite is really a blue crystal, and the white gold chain is really silver. We were cheated. We forgot the shop name but the receipt says Venta Joy Alberto, Carr Chankanab RM No 4 5 L 51G, Cozumel qroo. Our credit card statement shows the vendor Joy Alberto Cozumel Qroo. We were stupid and didnt demand an itemized statement that actually describes the item we bought so our bank thinks we wont be able to dispute a foreign charge that would come down to our claim regarding what we were told versus theirs.
