disappointing cruise

the ship is beautiful and very easy to get around.we were very disappointed in the ports we ended up with. Hurricane Ernesto caused us to have to forego the last 3 ports and the capt decided to take us to Progreso, Freeport and Nassau. we paid for 4 ports but feel that we only went to 3 as Progreso is not only very filthy but there is nothing to do there and it is not a safe-feeling place to be. we feel that the capt could have chosen nicer ports to go to but instead he just took the easy way and went to cheaper ports. this was very disappointing to everyone on board. not what you would expect from a capt of a ship of this size.

Pros: the size of the ship and layout

Cons: FOOD! lack of good entertainment\,

Recommends Carnival Dream? Yes!

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
dining room food was good and our waiters were very friendly. they made it so much fun to dine there each night. the food in The Gathering was awful. hot food was cold\, cold food was warm\, hamburgers was always overcooked. most food was way to spicy.
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
we went to 2 shows and they were good but there was very little to do onboard otherwise. it seemed that the nightly activities were geared to the very young people
