Nice layout poorly decorated

Sail Date: April 21, 2012

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The ship is well laid out. Staterooms are larger than those on Princess or Royal Caribbean. The dining options were wonderful (deli, pizza, international, Mongolian BBQ, pasta bar, sushi bar, popcorn, sandwich bar, etc., etc. The food was much better than our last Royal Caribbean trip. The entertainment was fair. 2 of 4 comedians were not that clever. Ship's production numbers were ambitious and performed as choreographed, but were not that appealing. Piano player was fun. Daily combo and other performers were consistently good.

Pros: The options for food were many, and the quality of the food was very good.

Cons: The ship's decor is quite cheesey.

Recommends Carnival Dream? No.

Ship Quality
It's a shame; she's a large and well-plannel ship, but the decor is wholly unimpressive. Part of the grandeur of cruising is the beauty of your surroundings and the clever/beautiful ways the ship's areas are designed. The Carnival Dream is, well, "cheesey."
Cabin / Stateroom
Chose an inside cabin for a change ... had 3 large closets!
Service and Staff
Carnival's training is not as good as Royal Caribbean/Celebrity, but the staff was helpful and efficient.
Food and Dining
Lots of options!
