No Comparison to Freedom of the Seas!

Sail Date: November 26, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

After 3 previous cruise on Royal Carribean's "Freedom of the Seas" the layout of "The Dream" was a dissappointment.

Pros: Shore Excursions

Cons: The Ship

Recommends Carnival Dream? No.

Ship Quality
Children's Programs
Travelled with 7 grandchildren (ages 3 - 15) in June on the Royal Carribean's "Freedom of the Seas" and they enjoyed their pool areas immensely; very happy we didn't have them on "The Dream", it would have been a nightmare.
Service and Staff
The bar staff were the only ones really excited to see you each day - I'm sure their built-in gratuities helped.
Food and Dining
Unable to get whole wheat bread or buns (or any dark bread) in formal dining room at dinner time even though they offered heart healthy entrees. Some nights I couldn't get Earl Grey tea - other nights I got the tea but no teapot, just a cup of hot water; we were Early Seating so that wasn't a factor.
