Carnival Dream wasn't the perfect dream

Sail Date: November 12, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This was our 26th cruise and 2nd on the Dream. It was not as good as the one in 2010. Carnival is trying hard to save money and previous amenities and services are slowly disappearing. The ship was clean. We had great table mates. Some of the daily activities and shows need replacement. This maybe fine for new cruisers but for repeat they become boring.

Pros: Beautiful ship - friendly staff

Cons: Food quality and service slipping

Recommends Carnival Dream? Yes!

Ship Quality
Bigger is not better. The quantity of people often overwhelmed the elevator availability. Dining rooms were only accessable to other floors by elevator. The ship was clean and well maintained.
Food and Dining
Dinner was our least favorite experience and this is usually what we look forward to. Menu selection and presentation has deteriated. Breakfast selections at buffets usually cool before you reach your table.
Cabin / Stateroom
No problem here,
Service and Staff
We didn't get a WOW but they were very good,
Very good for first time cruisers - for us on our 13th Carnival there was too much same old same old.
