Review summary

Beautiful ship with great interior decor. Read previous comments about this ship being hard to get around, but we did not experience that at all. Took about 1 day to learn floor plan and learn the shortcuts. Staterooms were larger than anticipated and had lots of closet space. Balcony was great. Were were on 11th floor Spa stateroom (11214). Access to spa was good and enjoyed amenties with room. Ship was kept very clean.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Found the Gathering buffet to be a huge let-down. Food was not that great and presentation was plain. Nothing fancy here. One day had the BBQ lunch on Lanai and hot dogs were cold. Sliders were terrible. Was it real beef? Table service at Crimson was good, food was better but nothing fantastic. Food and dining was our biggest disappointment. Found the 24 hour pizza bar to be out saviour.

Entertainment

Plenty to do and see. Shows were good in Encore theater. Especially liked "Dancin' in the Street". Broadway quality. Last night Legends show with top karoke performers was also good. Bingo was little pricey at $20 every time to play. Lots going on at the Lido deck everyday.

Very nice and large. Plenty of closet space. Steward did a good job keeping room tidy. Bathroom was adequate although shower was small.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Pre-arranged tour with Bernards. Spent the best time here al day. Went to several beaches including Orient Beach (nude), and the beach at airport where planes come in over you. FANTASTIC! Saw much of the country side and learned the Dutch and French influences. Driver very good. Took us to do some shopping at out of the way place with very good prices. BEST DAY OF 3 STOPS!
Don't Miss: Go to beach at end of airport runway. What an experience. Planes & jets come in very low. Best time is 1:00 - 1:30

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

As this was all day stop, had more time to shop and sightsee. Took excursion taxi around island to Megans Beach ans Saphire Beach. Very informative.
Don't Miss: Photographs from top of mountain to Megans Beach, Tortola, St. Johns Island, etc.

Nassau, Bahamas

Overall, not enough time to see everything. Went shopping at tent village along the wharf. Crowded. Would have liked more time to go to Atlantis.
Don't Miss: None

Pros: Large ship with plenty of acivities. Great shows in encore theater. Don't miss "Dancin' in the Streets." Staterooms have planty of space. We were in in Cloud 9 Spa stateroom on 11th deck. After about one day, easy to navigate around the ship. Eastern Caribbean ports of call were great!

Cons: Food did not meet expectations. Buffet at the Gathering was just above the level of a hospital cafeteria. No fancy presentations. Half the time we could not finish our dinner, food was just not that good. Crimson dining room table service was little better, but not great.
