Not impressed

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

This was an okay trip. This was our second time on carnival and the quality was just okay. The food was okay, but the lines on the lido deck are too long for food most of the time. The service in the dining room was good during the scheduled dinners, but not good during breakfast and lunch. The pools are way too small and salt water, so they're not really enjoyable and horribly crowded. The room was nice and clean and spacious for a boat and the steward service was good. This is a cheaper cruise line, but I'd have to say you get what you pay for.

Pros: The room was great

Cons: The pools were way too small and the ports were boring

Recommends Carnival Dream? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
Room was spacious and clean - split bath was a great benefit with kids
Children's Programs
The Camp Carnival was good, but there was nothing outside of it to do as a family - magic shows, etc.
Entertainment
The entertainment/show options weren't that great on this cruise. There were a few good shows and a few comedy nights, but certainly not something for everyone every night, as on many other cruises
Service and Staff
The people at the excursion desk are really not helpful unless you want to buy something. They won't help you at all understand what there is to do if you just want to walk around or go to a beach with young kids. They only care about you if you're buying something. Other than that, most people were very helpful.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
Food quality was good - just too long in lines on the lido
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Shopping was decent here and close to ship
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Nothing at all to do here
Nassau, Bahamas
Nothing to do without paying to go into town
