Absolutely Awesome!

Sail Date: July 16, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

We absolutely loved this cruise! From the great stateroom to the friendly service all around, to the food and entertainment, we had nothing but great things to say! It exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend this ship to others. Our one complaint (if you can call it that), is that the pool(s) are pretty small for all the people (sometimes shoulder to shoulder in the pool!), and we would have preferred freshwater to salt water. Other than that, really great in every aspect!

Pros: Everything! Room/Food/Service/Entertainment was fantastic!

Cons: Pool is a bit too small the number of people (and would prefer freshwater to saltwater)

Recommends Carnival Dream? Yes!

Food and Dining
We thought the food was quality! The kids especially enjoyed the desserts each night! :)
Cabin / Stateroom
We ended up in a handicapped room because we booked last minute and were pleasantly surprised to find that the bathroom was HUGE! Also had a GREAT location on the ship, right by the pool! Couldn't have asked for better!
Service and Staff
All of the staff were exceptionally friendly - right away learning all of our names and calling us by name each time they saw us. Extremely great with the kids, doing tricks and making origami animals at our dinner table! Also shared their personal stories with us willingly - so personable! We loved going to dinner each night - the food and service are outstanding!
Awesome! Our cruise directors, Gary Brierley and George Roberts were outstanding! We so enjoyed their morning show on sea days - our daughter was invited to join them as a special guest one day! The shows each evening were great, and we also loved the comedians! Pool deck parties were a lot of fun too!
Ship Quality
Nassau, Bahamas
We have been guests of Atlantis Resort several times, so for us it was disappointing to be "shunned" from being allowed to step foot in the pool area, beach or lobby because we were visiting as a cruise guest this time. We understand their policies, but it was still disappointing. We personally do not like the city of Nassau so did not spend any time there.
Don't Miss: Go directly to Atlantis, pay $60pp to use their pool/beach for the day (don't go on excursion) Take $6 round trip ferry to Paradise Island.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
We did all our shopping here - Magen's Bay beach is on the other side of the island, so if you plan on going there, don't plan on shopping that day - not enough time to do both. It's a 1/2 hour or so drive to the beach from the pier.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
We were very impressed with how St. Maarten had changed since our last cruise 14 years ago! The whole area is built up with a beautiful boardwalk area by the beach with lots of shops and restaurants. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and all just a 5 minute walk from the pier! There's a Hard Rock Cafe and a McDonalds just a block or two away!
Don't Miss: Go to the beach!!!!!!
