4 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: October 11, 2012
Ship: Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Couple
Reviewed: 5 years ago
Overall the cruise was average. It was a quick getaway weekend for us, so we were just looking to relax. Adult only area was not reinforced which was frustrating (as we normally don't get a chance to use them because we have kids). The ship seemed to be a little dated from decor. Food service was vastly improved over our last sailing with Carnival.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Much improved over what we had last time with Carnival. Could use additional dining options tho. Also seemed as tho the food service did not always follow the schedule.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The entertainment that they did have was very good\, but the choice of activities was poor.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The crew was not overly outgoing (with exception of dining room staff which did a great job). Minimal interaction with room steward\, etc...which was ok. With other cruise lines it seems as though they are more attentive making sure you don't need anything.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ship needs to be updated and my understanding is that is going to updated by next year with a massive\, dry dock overhaul.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
We had a balcony room with a window and a door. The room seemed very small compared to other cruise lines\, figuring that this is due to the age of the ship possibly?

Pros: The intinerary

Cons: The adult area was not reinforced.

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28? No.
