5 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: September 03, 2012
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Singles/Friends
Reviewed: 4 years ago
The ship is dated for sure. Being a 5 day cruise the overall quality of guests was also sub-par. Maybe bottom end price means bottom end class. The elegance of a cruise was totally lost. I have been on 11 Carnival cruises and will only travel on the newer fleet in the future. The best thing is the ship will dock soon for a total refurb. which is sorely needed.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Giving an average rating is being kind. Once again I have been very impressed with Carnival in the past. There was no Signature dining room on this ship. Lido area was run down and very crowded most of the time. Pizza was average. Deli had nice sandwich selections.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Piano bar was not good\, Karaoke OK. Atrium singer very good. Casino was OK.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Didn't seem to see many kids on this cruise (just got back in school)

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
This would have been higher except the bartenders lack of speed brought the rating down. Mt room steward was great like always. Always had a smile and called me by my first name.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Once again\, most areas were very dated.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
The TV was maybe a 13 inch tube that got 2 channels. Wasn't worth turning on. Bathroom was worn and dated. Size was good like all Carnival ships.

Pros: Grand Turk - Margaritaville

Cons: Decor of ship\, stateroom\, and lounges

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28? No.
