Cabin Was Loud and Food was Terrible

Sail Date: January 23, 2012

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

Pools were very small and did not look very clean. Lines on Buffet and specialty food areas were always long. Ate at the Buffet one day. Food was bland and luke warm. Dining Room food was better but not much. Ate each night at the last sitting and were still rushed. Handed the menu and expected to pick what you wanted immediately. Food came every night cold to luke warm. Lobster half cooked, Shrimp overcooked. Not a great selection. Staff at dining and cabin were nice. Rest of crew seemed to want to jump ship and not be there. Gettin off in Grand Cayman took a couple hours. Same for the end of the trip. No organization by Carnival. Will never sail with them again. Booked 6 months in advance and was placed in a cabin directly above loud night club that played terrible band Karoke until 1am. Cabin shook from the vibration of the drums. Room Service selection consisted of Toasted Cheese, Ham and Cheese or a Rueben. Not what we expected. If you could ever get through to them.

Pros: Getting Off the Ship

Cons: Crowds. Late night noise from Bar directly below us until 1am

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28? No.

Food and Dining
Service and Staff
They all must have been near the end of their contract becuase they acted like they did not want to be there. Guest Services was terrible. If they ever answered the phone.
If you like Karoke then the entertainment was THE BEST. Because it was all over the ship. Also if you like to play Bingo at $30 per card you will have a great time.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Bathroom needs updated and also someone let Carnival know there are flat screens out now and they can get rid of the 19" box tv
