Carnival 2nd timer

Sail Date: January 14, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Destiny is a bit older, could use a lot of updates. Amount of shows and activities compared to my cruise in August aboard the Fascination was subpar. The shows were not that great, not enough of them, and definitely not enough activities for older children 12-14..Also, the wait staff pushed alcohol consistently - you could not sit down in the casino or comedy show before somene was asking you if you wanted to buy a drink. Food quality was not good, and definitely not enough variety

Pros: Stateroom size

Cons: Not enough activities for adults or older children

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.

Food and Dining
Food was not anything close to good. Scrambled eggs were horrible! And not enough variety. It took 2 hours to be served and eat in the Galaxy dining room at dinner hours!
Entertainment
No variety of shows, only a couple of shows on the Destiny. The Carnival Fascination was much better!
Children's Programs
Not enough programs
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom size was good
Service and Staff
Had some great wait staff and our room steward was great
Ship Quality
