Not impressed

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

First time cruising. Ship is very dated. Interior stateroom was like staying in a closet. i disliked getting out of the shower and almost ending up on the toilet because they are so close together. The carpet in the room looked a little dirty with a couple stains. No irons in the rooms. No clock in the room. Our waiter in the dining room took forever to bring our refills. He was also in such a hurry to take our plates even though I was still eating. We would be finished with dessert before he showed up with coffee. The food is the same day after day. We ate pizza most of the time at the 24 hr pizza shop. They have ice cream 24 hours a day,but it is tasteless. The buffet on the Lido deck consisted of people in swimsuits and men with no shirts hovering over it, which was unsanitary. There was people in the restaurant with bathing suits on as well, even though they have signs posted to wear shoes and shirts. The bathrooms started to smell like sewage after day 3. A lot of the workers are not from America and are difficult to understand and when you say "excuse me" because you can't understand them, they look at you like your are a freak! The ship is so difficult to navigate around on because it is arranged very inconveniently. I spent most of my time on the elevators and roaming the halls.

Pros: We were part of a group that went with a celebrity

Cons: small bathroom in interior stateroom, buffet by the pool on the Lido deck, Waiter in dining room was slow, No variety of food, same everyday.

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.

Food and Dining
The food in the dining room was good most nights
Cabin / Stateroom
Small outdate stateroom. Most of the time it was hot in our room.
Ship Quality
Housekeeping always straightened our room and made our beds,
Service and Staff
Most of the workers we encountered were willing to help. Some weren't even sure how to get to certain places on the ship.
