Nice Cruise

Sail Date: September 10, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Ship was beautifully decorated, crew was always cleaning, wiping, and keeping it in great shape. Some of the cruise directors were quite unprofessional, need some training on dealing with people. Comedy acts were good, adult versions were really raw.

Pros: Rooms were better than expected and cabin stewarts were always cleaning the rooms.

Cons: Lack of shows, Leadership was very unprofessional!

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? Yes!

Didn't think the shows were the best, musicians and singers needed some practice. Lack of variety of music! NO Country music at all. Jimmy Buffet's & Kenny Chesney's songs would have been perfect for the cruise.
Ship Quality
Felt the main pool was way too small, although there were several to choose from. Cleanliness was top priority on the ship. Accessibility to some areas was alittle hard to navigate. Our Main Dining Area was difficult to get to.
Service and Staff
Felt the Cruise Directors were a bit unpolished! Expected more professionalize from them. Took us 5 times to get an extension cord delivered to our room for my husbands Cpap machine. Electrical plugs were on opposite side of room from bed.
Food and Dining
Food was great and plenty of it.
Cabin / Stateroom
Size, decor, and condition of our stateroom was excellent. Our cabin stewarts were the best. Although alittle surprised on our final bill we were charge $4.95 for a bottle of water that was in our cabin when we arrived. Thought that could have been complementary since the dining and drink areas of the ship were quite a bit away from our cabins, we were at the front of the ship and most dining/drink areas were towards back of ship.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Very hot day, but the margareties made up for it. Port Call was cut short, felt we were short changed on this one.(5 hrs in port)
Don't Miss: Jimmy Buffet's Margareta Vill
George Town, Grand Cayman
Freebie gifts were great, however the shopping was mostly jewelry, souveniors, and the ship's suggested places. Beaches were miles away from where we docked.
Don't Miss: Just the beaches are gorgeous!
