So So Cruise at Best

Sail Date: December 23, 2010

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Balcony

The layout of the ship is very poor - you can't get to the front of the boat as you can on most ships. The pool are mid-ship is porly laid out and hard to get around. The ship is very worn and parts of the ship are not well maintained. The carpet on the stairs throughout the ship needed to be replaced 5 years ago. The deckers were badly weathered. I found cigaratte butts on my balcony when I arrived. The buffet has the worst selection of any cruise. The bar staff is relentless in hawking drinks on deck, in the casino, shows - marking it hard to enjoy what you are doin

Pros: The hotel staff is very friendly.

Cons: The ship is worn.

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The buffet is small and pooly laid out with lines that caused constant conjestion. The food selection was less than average.
Cabin / Stateroom
Bathrooms on ships are small, however, this ship has the most poorly laid out of any ship I have been on. To use the toilet you have to lean into the shower and you are constantly knocking the hair dryer off the wall. No fridge in the room. TV was old and had a green picture.
Entertainment
The trivia on the jubo screen on the lido deck was cool.
Service and Staff
Employees were friendly. The bar staff badger you to death.
Cozumel, Mexico
The weather and port are nice. We arrived in the afternoon and a large number of normal excursions were not available.
Key West, Florida
Limited ship tours but you can do things on your own. I did a Waverunner tour around the island - great fun. Don't rent a scotter from Adventure Sports, they are poorly maintained.
