Carnival is still lots of fun

Sail Date: November 06, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

This was our third time sailing on Carnival. There is always something to do, and plenty of good food to eat at a great variety of venues. We always try to get involved in as many of the trivia challenges as possible, and at least one of the contests held on board. This year I actually won the round of Boat Brothers. The food served in the main dining room for dinner was especially good, with a wide variety of well prepared dishes. We went on the tubing/zip line excursion in Jamaica, and had a great time. All in all, it was a great cruise again aboard Carnival.

Pros: The food was excellent.

Cons: The disembarkation process.

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
The ship was very clean. Although the boat is older, the decor was understated and more to my liking than the newer, gaudier designs we've seen.
Food and Dining
Cabin / Stateroom
Very clean and comfortable.
Service and Staff
The staff was friendly, helpful, and always gracious.
Entertainment
Life aboard a cruise is what you make of it. We always have a great time on Carnival, as there is plenty to do if you get involved.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
We had a great time on the zip line/rafting excursion. The guides were young, energetic and very helpful.
George Town, Grand Cayman
The water is crystal clear and the most beautiful around. The downtown has become very commercialized since our last visit 34 years ago, though.
