The boat blew and engine on the way home

Sail Date: October 18, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

Like I said we were so late getting back by the time we got our bags and cleared customs we then had to take a bus to the airport we missed our 2pm flight. The airline did not care they wanted us to pay more money to rebook a flight. Carvinal said they would only give back the money after we first payed for the changes weeks later. I complained and got new seats for free and got home around 9pm that night. it was complete madness getting off the ship just about everyone missed their flights and the staff could care less. They only rebooked flights for those who bought their tickets with Carvinal NEVER AGAIN and we had insurance but it only covers if the ship is 12hrs delayed and if you miss your flight to the ship not your flight home. Overall the ship it self was fine ther ports were beautiful but they should have done a better job getting everyone home

Pros: Being away from home the ship was actually nice and the room was decent

Cons: The boat blew an engine or motor on the way back from the bahamas to Miami we drifted at about 9-10 knots or nautical miles. The boat was leaning to the right side all night. We were supposed to arrive in Miami at 7am we did not arrive until 12noon we missed our flight home

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.

It was pretty lame
Food and Dining
They served the same breakfast every morning but it was ok
Service and Staff
They were fine until debarkation day i guess they have your money already they could care less what happens or how you get home from that point on
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Compared to the other ships we have been on this was pretty good the shower was much larger and we had an inside cabin
Grand Turk Island
It is worth seeing the beach is very nice plus there is a Margaritaville there with TALL drinks
Don't Miss: The tall drinks
Nassau, Bahamas
We've been here before so it was pretty much the same. Last year we went over to Atlantis and it was great but if you only stay in the downtown area it pretty boring
Don't Miss: The aquarium at Atlantis is amazing
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
Don't Miss: The sand is like power it is sooooo nice
