An absolute blast

Sail Date: September 06, 2010

Room Type: Oceanview

We were having fun aboard the Carnival Destiny before it even left Miami! The staff was wonderful. From beginning to end we had a blast!

Pros: Fun aboard the ship

Cons: Atlantis on Nassau

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
We were upgraded to a porthole room which was alright until we were woken to loud sounds. Once we found out it was the waves hitting the front of the ship we were fine and just giggled about it.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
The food was great from the fine dining to the pizza stand!
Service and Staff
The crew was great. They knew our names and room number the first day which made us feel super special.
Entertainment
The shows were top notch, as was the Destiny band - they were fantastic! Had fun at the disco. Participated in fun and games on the pool deck. Our sides still hurt from laughing so much.
Children's Programs
We hardly saw any children, so they must really keep them occupied!
Grand Turk Island
Jimmy Buffet Margarittaville
Don't Miss: Dune Buggy
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)
An awesome day spent on a white sand beach with clear aqua water. Postcard perfect.
Don't Miss: Swimming at the beautiful beach
Nassau, Bahamas
Atlantis was horrible unless you are into endless hiking. Don't bring cash cuz they only take credit cards (now that is a comfortable feeling!) Also NOT handicap accessible. Rude help. We could not get out of there and back to the ship fast enough! Nassau is a dump. Atlantis is hours of walking. Stay on the ship and relax and have fun. No fault of Carnival - they were great!
Don't Miss: Don't miss a great day hanging out on the ship
