Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28 Cruise Review to Caribbean - Eastern
Review SummaryThis was our first cruise and we have absolutely no regrets. We had a balcony room which was great. The room stewards did a fabulous job....they cleaned the rooms 2x/day and we always returned to a spotless cabin. The ship overall was kept very tidy. The crew were constantly cleaning/picking up after guests. The staff were fabulous. Everyone always went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. They were friendly, courteous and always had a smile on their face. The food was good. It wasn't anything to write home about, it was certainly better than what I would make. The shows were also enjoyable. There were 2 comedians....one was funnier than the other, but we had a good time at both. The variety shows and game type shows were also a lot of fun. It's true that the chairs by the pool fill up fast, but go to any resort or beach on land and you experience the same thing. We didn't get to the pool until 10:30 one morning, and while all the chairs were taken, we found some empty deck space and a stack of extra chairs and set up our own little spot. The other guests on the cruise ship were mostly couples.....a lot of honeymooners, and a lot of couples in their 30's and 40's. Some families with small kids, but not many. People were drinking throughout the day on the ship, but we never heard any rowdy drunks at night. I think going in May was an advantage (wasn't spring break and kids are still in school.) I would really have to look hard to find something to criticize.
