Carnival Does Not Care

Sail Date: January 01, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

My overall impression is this is a broken down ship that Carnival is riding until it dies. In fact, it nearly did on the 1/16/2010 sailing, whereas they had to reroute in mid-cruise. Then, Carnival decided to keep the ship in service while punishing the next four sailings (1/21, 1/26, 1/30, 2/4...and maybe even 2/8) by sendng us to ports in Mexico instead of to Jamaica and Grand Cayman. We were on the 1/30/2010 sailing, but were not told of the port changes until 1/27 (2 days prior to our departure), even though Carnival was aware on 1/17 (10 days earlier).

Pros: Getting off the ship

Cons: Knowing about ship problems but waiting 10 days to let us know.

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.
