Not the best cruise out there

Sail Date: August 06, 2009

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

The Destiny is an older, large ship. Although it has been renovated like all ships, it shows its age. Our cruise was sold out but since the ship is so large, it never seemed crowded.

Pros: A good weekend getaway cruise.

Cons: Dining room menu and service.

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED)? No.

Cozumel, Mexico
Cozumel is beautiful and we spent the day at the beach then downtown shopping. The shopping was just as good at the port so you can skip downtown and spend more time at the port shopping and of course, drinking.
Don't Miss: Beaches, snorkling and water sports.
Key West, Florida
We live in South Florida and have been to Key West by car many times. This was our first time by ship. I was surprised the stay was so short at this port but I'm sure there's a reason. Even though we have been there many times, we would have liked more time here. I can imagine those who have never been there would have liked more time.
Don't Miss: Famous landmarks like Sloppy Joe's and the museums.
