A great first cruise despite the weather

Sail Date: May 18, 2009

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

This was our first cruise and even though we only got a couple of half days of sun, we had a blast. There is so much to do on the ship even when raining. We had inside cabins on the main deck in the middle of the ship. Our rooms were actually bigger than we expected and were always kept clean.

The ship seemed to be in good condition for an older ship. We enjoyed several good shows, the spa, the casino, bars, and shops. The service crew always went above and beyond for us, especially at dinner.

I can really see how people become addicted to cruising now!

Pros: Food, service, variety of things to do

Cons: The weather (not controllable)

Recommends Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28? Yes!

Grand Turk Island

Don't Miss: Snorkeling and sting rays was great, but we didn't see a lot of fish the day we were there.
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Don't Miss: The beach/water is unbelievable. I just wish we had gotten some sun that day.
Nassau, Bahamas

Don't Miss: Atlantis Aquaadventure excursion is worth the price.
